What is a good quality universal remote for a reasonable price?

Good quality flat screen TV for reasonable price?

  • I've been looking to buy a flat screen tv for awhile now. I would like something in the 32-36" range. I would like something that has good enough quality so that I can play games on it (PSII and maybe III in future) and have them look decent. I'm not looking to spend a ton of money here. I'm hoping to pay an average of around $700. What is the best kind of tv for what I'm looking for? Plasma or LCD, etc? Which one is more reasonable and which one has the longest life span? Brand name or off brand? I don't know that much about shopping for flatscreens. Before I was just looking at price, but if I'm going to shell out money, I want something that will last and be good quality too. Thank you for any suggestions. :)

  • Answer:

You cant go wrong with Panasonic! In that size range you will be looking at LCD's. Current popular plasmas are 42" and above.

Plasma are good for over 50" TVs. If you are on the computer a lot and you are not in a big hurry I have seen really good ones listed lately on slickdeals.net. They don't sell them but they list deals. Hey, here is a good deal that is still running: Costco has 32" Sharp Aquos LC-32D42U 32" LCD TV for $800 - auto $150 off = $650. Shipping is zip code dependent, and starts around $20. Lowest on PriceGrabber is $800. Get an LCD, great savings on electricity compared to a plasma TV. HDTV like Viewsonic, Winbook, and Vizio for 32" - 37", you can buy for less tnan $700. Try Micro Center (check internet).

You cant really get many plasma options in that size range. For the LCDS, i like the new samsungs

Any LCD will be good and not do the burn in thing. Dealnews.com has a whole bunch of low prices from different merchants. Don't buy refurb though, they are cheap enough that you shouldn't need to.
