Who makes lcd screens for sony?

What is better for video LCD monitor or LCD televisions???

  • Is FULL HD only larger than 32 inch? Will lower resolution DVD's look horrible on your LCD HD Televison or LCD HD monitor? I guess Sony is this best brand with its Live Color Creation. Is 100 Hertz better than 50 hertz? I thought CRT televisions already got 100 hertz. The store displayed analog signals horrible on LCD Television Screens! Movies that are shot with a normal camera and not HD camera on blue ray disc! They must be joking!

  • Answer:

Aside from the tuner, an LCD monitor & LCD TV are the same (assuming same resolution & screen size). I've seen full HD on a 15" screen, but not in a standalone unit. For a screen smaller than 32", who would care? Sony is highly regarded for their video products. 'Hard to go wrong with them. Not sure what you mean by 50Hz versus 100Hz, but the screen refresh rate should match the source so you don't get flicker (CRT TV's refresh at 60Hz--30 frames per second x2 since the picture is interlaced). Movies are traditionally shot on film (Shrek & the like notwithstanding). 70mm film is higher definition than any home system could ever exploit. Regular DVD is lower def than any source it came from. High definition DVD's will look better than their standard-DVD counterpart whether they were shot with a high-def camera or not. In-store analog signals often don't look great becasue o the distribution systems used (& the lack of staff knowledge on maintaining them).
