How to view freeview channels?

If I buy a freeview box, does that mean i will be able to view freeview channels?

  • How does it work as i have never thought about one before? Thanks!

  • Answer:

It goes between the TV and the aerial a bit like a VCR. Your aerial will need to be suitable for Digital reception then you will be able to view freeview channels

Yep that's the Idea. Just connect it up to your tv aerial and do the scan function and it will scan the airwaves for the stations you can pick up. You might not get all of the channels available but it all depends on your location. Upgrading the aerial might be necessary if you don't pick up anything but your old one should be ok. Just think of it as an extra tuning device for your tv.

Yes if you have an external arial that is picking up a good signal from a digital transmitter.

You will just get a selection of bog standard channels e.g. BBC Three, ITV 2, E4, maybe even one or two music channels like TMF. They are worth getting just for the Dave channel! Oh, and you also get quite a far bit of radio stations. The process is pretty simple. You just connect the freeview box to via your scart lead to your tv. The day time... of the NIGHT!

You will be able to view some of the Freeview channels. Once your area has gone digital, you will be able to view them all through your Freeview box.
