Which is better DLP or 3LCD?

DLP or LED TV, need help?

  • Looking to buy a 60'' TV and need help deciding between a DLP or an LED. I currently have a 58'' Samsung DLP that is flat out awesome...had it for 4 years now. We're moving it upstairs and need to replace it. I'm aware that the LED's use less power, and aren't really subject to the bulb burn out that DLP's are...but is there a big enough difference in quality to pay $300 - #500 extra for a same-sized LED? I'm also not really worried about things like outrageous claims for "dynamic contrast ratio" or "refresh rate"...a little research showed the fallacy of the claims and how meaningless a refresh rate over 60 is.

  • Answer:

Mitsubishi DLP's are good they come with 3D and are great for watching movies but not so great for gaming. LED have great picture and are good for movies and games. If you want 3D and the LED doesent have that concider the DLP if you dont care for a 3Dtv and like gaming get the LED.

If you own and love DLP, you should stay with it. LEDs are still in the developing stages and exhibit uneven back lighting and corner flashlighting as common issues. You know all the ups and downs of DLP. The price is lower and over time LEDs will get better and then you change if you'd like to.

DLP is ancient technology and is not manufactured anymore. Good Luck finding a new one anywhere. LED is the way to go today and if you watch the sales you can get a good deal on 55" for probably a thousand bucks less than you paid for your DLP.
