Why is my cable box causing interference?

How do I connect my tv, dvd, & digital cable box?

• Ok this is way I have: TV: My tv only has the one coax cable hook up (the one that you actually would hook the main cable up to?? not sure if coax is the right word but we'll assume it is) DVD: The dvd player has the RCA hook ups(the yellow, white and red) and the S-output. (no coax) Dig Cable: Ok the cable box is one of the standard ones you get with suddenlink or commcast. It has the coax in and coax out, all the different hook ups for the RCA cords, and the S-output cord. I have tried hooking them up all different ways but nothing will work. I bought one of those little boxes that you can hook your stuff up to thinking may be that would work but i'm not sure if I am using it correctly. When I hook my digital cable up to it works perfectly but the dvd doesn't. When I plug the little box up the red light doesn't come on. Could it possibly not get getting any power which is causing the RCA jacks not to work?? Do RCA jacks need power to work? Do I need a new TV!?!

  You need two sets of r,y,w. Cable box out to tv in coaxial. R,w,y out from tv to in dvd. Go back out the dvd into the tv.The docking station should work anyway except you go in dock ,out dock as a feed thru and hit the number in is to. My dock has no power. Cable box to dvd in rear. Coaxial out rear to tv in. Yellow, white and red out in front of dvd to equal rear jack of second component if any. The antenna in and out will be coaxial on the right side. With no antenna in and out on your dvd player you may need the dvd off to watch tv. You need a new dvd with antenna coaxial or cable ready.
