How to get BBC iPlayer & YouTube app on Sony Bravia TV?

I have a Sony Bravia TV (model number: KDL-40EX723) and we have Facebook and Twitter as 'widgets' on it but Skype is an app, i was just wondering what YouTube and BBC iPlayer were (apps or widgets) and how the hell i download them?! Thanks
