I have an analogue tv. If I buy a digital set top box, do I need to have a special antenna?
-
I currently have a set-top antenna that plugs into the back of the tv (rabbit's ears). Do I need a different antenna if I want a HD digital set top box?
-
Answer:
NO....a regular antenna can still pick up the TV channels with no degradation of signal quality..... The reason people WANT you to buy a NEW antenna is just because they cannot tell if your OLD antenna is in good shape or not....like is the cable wire broken or bent or has a bad connection on it? Or is the antenna itself bent or broken? That's why they want to sell a new one....to guarantee you have a good FUNCTIONAL antenna when you set up the new box you just bought.
