Why won't DirecTV remote TV input work?

I have a tv with red white and yellow input ports, but no input channel. How do I make my PS2 work on it?

  • There is no input channel. If I press the 'menu' button, I have the option of activating a VCR channel (which I enabled for 03) or a cable channel (which I also tried for channel 03). Neither worked. My tv is an older RCA tv.

  • Answer:

Make sure your game console is turned on when checking these out. Check to see if your VCR channel also supports your AUX. If that doesn't do it for you, try going down in numbers on your TV. Your AUX channel to play the game is usually below channel 2. If you're going to re-route the console cables to work through a VCR, which I have done... You turn on the VCR, hit TV/VCR button on VCR remote, go to Aux 1 or AUX 2 and you can play your game off one of those channels. Edit: Does your TV have input ports in the front of it as well as the back? Try using the front ports if your TV has them. Check the back of your gaming system for channel 3 or 4. Make sure it's set to the channel you're likely to use on your TV. You can always buy a universal remote for under $10.00 if anything else. Program it to run your TV.

You have to differentiate between Tv channels (fed by the Tv´s tuner) and the Av channels. The port you are using is one of the external AV ports. On your remote there should be a button AV or ext. or a symbol that is the outline of a screen with an arrow pointing into it. You might have to press this button several times before the PS/2 Shows up. If there is no such button on your remote, try the button "0" (Zero). Some of the older Tv´s do it like this.

Red & White Phonos are Left and Right audio. Yellow is Composite Video. Not sure what your PS3 has as outputs - there ought to be an option on the Tv for EXTERNAL to choose the CV input - I cannot say what setting on your remote will opt for the CV.

the input symbol is ....a square with an arrow . read its manual....if do not have...copy here its model...if do not know see back label on tv . for another solution...you may buy an RF MODULATOR ....connect RCA plugs to it and it to tv antenna jack then search tv for a new program .
