LG flat tv light flashes constantly?

LG flat screen tv problems?

• My 37inch LG flat screen tv obviously isnt working properly. When i press the power button the power light flashes on and off for anywhere 15 to 30 seconds. When the tv turns on its a black screen. Sometimes if i let it sit for 15 minutes it flashes a grey screen then turns on. Ive taken it apart several times and occasionally i get it to fire up. If anyone has any suggestions as to what it could be. Im not sure if its a power issue where its not getting enough juice, or someting more serious. Lastly if i get it to work and let it sit. If i shut it off and turn it back on it fires right up. Its only if i let it sit off, then turn it back on it does this. If anyone needs more info i can try to add more details.

  That sounds very similar to many, many LCD TV issues regarding the power supply. More specifically the larger electrolytic capacitors that are on the power supply circuit board. If you've taken the TV apart (as you stated) look for bulging capacitors (Google "bulging capacitors LCD TV") and you'll see many pictures showing you what a bad capacitor looks like. Sometimes they don't bulge but if they are then they are definitely bad. replacing them usually takes care of the issue. they are very cheap and if you know someone with moderate soldering skills it can be fixed for next to nothing. The alternative is to replace the entire power supply board - assuming that's where the problem is located.
