Can I pick up an HD signal on my Dish Network non HD package with my HDTV 1080p?
-
I am soon getting and HDTV with 1080p. Currently I have Dish Network non HD package. Should my HDTV be able to unscramble HD signals over the air? My TV will have the ATSC/NTSC & QAM Digital Television Tuners.

Answer:
If your local channels come from an antenna on your house and not from the satellite, you'll be able to see the local over the air HDTV. Otherwise, no.

To see an HD signal on tv, an HD signal must be sent. You said your dish network is not HD, so they are not sending an HD signal. You can watch your local channels in HD, over RF, which is what the rabbit ears antenna receives. Only certain shows and times are broadcast in HD.
