Why is my tv picture blue?

Why won't my LCD TV save its picture settings (OSD gone crazy)?

  • We have an Olevia lt26hve/hvx that was given to us by a friend who didn't need it anymore, and after about 2 years, the OSD and picture have gone crazy. The picture randomly loses color or goes dark, and when you try to reset one of the picture sliders it randomizes all the picture settings, goes very dark, or stays locked where you can only go up and not down. Also, any time you change input sources, the color resets. Many times the osd is nonresponsive at all. If there is no input source, the blue screen is just as bright as ever, so I don't think it's the panel or backlight. Ok, now I know this is a crap TV and that the company is gone out of business. I plan to replace it as my bedroom TV, but I had hopes to repair it and use it as a computer monitor. I've noticed that Olevia parts seem to be everywhere for sale, and that many times they're interchangable with Vizio parts. What I'm wondering is what board I'd need to replace (if it's possible) to fix the OSD/color problem. Is it the main board or the controller board? I'd like to use this TV as a honkin' big computer monitor, rather than just put it on the curb, if possible.

There's a reason they got rid of it.... It's junk.
