How do i record my TV screen?

Hi i am always watching youtube and i see people playing Call of Duty 5 but its not them using a camera to record the screen they are using something that allows them to record their TV screnn so it only shows the game? What can i buy to do that and how much would it cost

You can do that with any PVR or even a VCR. Just set the PVR/VCR to record from the source your Playstation/Xbox is connected to. For example connect your games console to the input of your VCR/PVR. E.g if your device is connected to AV2, set the PVR/VCR to record from AV2. Recording from HDMI is a little more complicated.
