How do you get rid of the black box for the digital converter?

How to get more channels with a digital converter box?

  • I have a digital converter box and time warner: broadcast. How can i use the digital converter box to get more channel? I scan and it says nothing detected. My uncle has a plasma tv which gets new channels with cox (with cheapest tv package)

  • Answer:

If you have time warner cable ,you don't need any converter box. Just use the box time warner gave you. Digital converter boxes are for over the air broadcasts. They convert the new digital signals back to an analog signal that your old tv can display. To potentially get more over the air stations, get a large outdoor antenna and mount it as high as you can, away from any other large obstructions like trees or buildings.

I'm not sure what "digital converter box" you're talking about. If it's one that TW gave you, you shouldn't need to do any channel scanning. If it's one of the government coupon boxes for the digital TV conversion, then you don't need it. You have cable, which supplies all your channels. The DTV converter box is only for antenna reception and analog TVs.
