How can I fix my plasma?

I have a loose HDMI board on my Plasma TV, how can I fix it?

  • I've posted once about this last year but may have sounded a bit confusing so I want to try again to see if any new assistance may be out there. My plasma TV (Samsung PN58B560) has four HDMI connectors, three together on the back and one on the side of the TV. Two of the three connectors on the back are extremely loose and simply don't work. Either it won't pick up when something is plugged into it (HDMI 3) or if it does on HDMI 1, the picture quality is TERRIBLE (very snowy and no sound) so obviously there is a detachment on the board. Now, I've heard some TVs HDMI boards are a simple tightening down process as far as some small screws that just need to be screwed back down and others require soldering which I have zero experience doing and would clearly need to find a professional. It's going to be about $200 to have a guy come out and diagnose the issue and to fix it (thats assuming no new parts are needed) and I'd rather NOT spend that money if I didn't have to so I was hoping someone here would be able to help me out and tell me if this is something that I can fix myself and if so, whats the process? I'm pretty tech savvy in general but have very little experience with TVs so I wanted to get some input before I try to do anything or suck it up and pay the few hundred dollars to have it checked out. Thanks

  • Answer:
