Do you know any webpage where I can watch TV in France?

How do i know if this computer has HDMI?

  • I am going to buy an LCD TV so I can connect it to this computer as a monitor, and watch TV from it. How do I know if i can connect it? It does not say on the webpage. http://www.compusa.com/applications/searchtools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=4559646&csid=ITD&body=QA#tabs

  • Answer:

It all depends on your available inputs/outputs. Here are your cable options (with pictures): http://www.microsoft.com/windows/product%E2%80%A6 Be sure to check out WMC, as you may already have it on your computer. Jeff Windows Outreach Team

The computer most likely does not have HDMI out. You can however, adapt DVI to HDMI. Most LCD TVs also have VGA connectors. On a side note, that's really not a very good graphics card. A $35 9600GSO from newegg would be better. Shame to spend that much on a gaming system that still doesnt game well.

It does not have HDMI. It uses the budget NVIDIA GeForce 9400GT card. This card offers DVI output (white port), VGA output (blue port), and S-Video output (black port). You can buy DVI to HDMI cables. So you can run the video using that DVI port on the back. But only carries video. HDMI is currently the only option that does both video and audio over the same cable, and both ends of the equation must be HDMI for that to work. So to deal with the audio, you would need a stereo mini to stereo RCA cable. You plug the stereo mini end onto your computer (usually the green port) and the RCA ends onto your TV. So you need to buy an LCD TV that has an HDMI port with associated stereo RCA inputs (most do, but not all, some expect that you'll not need it). Though it also says is should support 7.1, but I'm not sure how to hook that up from the motherboard pictures (you'd need to ask a computer store tech). Some examples, but do your own shopping for better deals if you want, DVI to HDMI - http://www.amazon.com/Belkin-PureAV-AV22400-06-6-Foot-HDMI/dp/B000HEANCE/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1247681111&sr=8-5 Stereo Mini to RCA - http://www.amazon.com/Dayton-3-5RCA-12-3-5mm-Stereo-Cable/dp/B000F7P7EW/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1247681135&sr=1-4 VGA can be used as well, but its more costly. You need a VGA to HDMI convertor box. That will run you about $100 or more at least. Because you need to deal with analog to digital conversions you need the convertor box. S-Video is standard definition only. You can use that as well for the video if you want. But don't expect it too look very good on the HDTV.

It doesn't, it has a Geforce 9400 video card in it which will likely have two DVI outputs.. The good news is DVI->HDMI adapters are quite cheap.

you'll actually need to check to see if the computer and the TV have DVI capability, not HDMI

If it has a port (hole) like the one in this picture, on the bottom: http://news.cnet.com/i/bto/20070809/360_hdmi_540x405.jpg
