How do you make a Satellite for a TV?

Will it really make the difference to invest in a HDMI cable to run from my satellite tuner to my TV?

  • running satellite receiver and hd television

  • Answer:

Not if you have a component cable already set up. if you don't, then I would either use a component cable, or a cheap hdmi cable. you dont have to buy an $150 hdmi cable, you can get them for like $40 at walmart or another store like that. You will definitely love the higher quality of the picture once you do this. very crisp!

In my opinion no. Some people will say that using HDMI makes for more saturated brighter colors over component. I for one perfer the look of the component. If you do decide to go with HDMI, please save yourself a lot of money and go to www.monoprice.com. It will save you more than $50 over a retail store. Also HDMI transmits a digital signal, which is either off or on. Don't get suckered into paying $150 for a gold plated super titanium gas sealed cable. The regular old HDMI cable will work just as well. Component cables will benefit from the better cables as they transmit a analog signal that is subject to noise.

I wouldn't really call it an investment. HDMI cables can be bought cheap. The technology is better than the mess of wires from component cables.
