Do all LCD TV's shadow?

What is the difference between LCD TVs and the regular tube TVs?

  • I've had my TV set for about 10 years now, and really, it's time for a new one. I'm looking at the LCD TVs, but I honestly don't know anything about them. Are they any better than the older tube TVs?

    A tube tv uses three tubes (red green and blue) to create a picture. The phosphor in the tubes heat up to give you a picture. After the phosphor burns off, your tv dies. LCD has light panels behind a liquid crystal display. As the light passes through the crystal, you get color and picture. Take care.

I used to manage Best Buy, they have a really good comparison tool online, it's also great to check howthingswork.com. LCD is a thinner, lighter screen than a tube tv. It will also show you a high definition signal if you feed one into it. No two ways about it, LCD is better than a tube tv, but if you don't specifically need a tv that you hang on the wall, why don't you look at a DLP. Only 17 inches thick, about 60ish pounds, and you can do high def and also use it as a computer monitor...

They have better quality and there easier to place because there most of them flat screen these days. They also have HD LCD's which has a brighter color and better quality picture.

yes the lcd tvs are better, way better!! they have a flat screen other than the tube tv. and 10 years wow that major old scool tv. we dont a have lcd tv but we (my family) we have a 27inch flat sony tv and its really nice. but this year im geting a 24inch lcd tv for my (xbox360) and the lcd tvs are thinner and they have way better pix so lcd tv is the better way to go.
