TV/VCR/DVD help please! Can't get movie picture to show up on tv screen?

My DVD player is hooked up to my VCR which is hooked up to my tv. The sound for the movie im trying to play works and on the screen the movie is sort of showing up like behind the blue screen if you know what I mean. And the picture is floating across the screen over and over again. The sound is working but the picture just won't show up the right way. I'm trying to play a DVD and I think this problem has something to do with the in/out and yellow and white female spots on my VCR and the way the male parts are hooked up

Yellow for the video and the white and red for audio , , , , theres a input and output in the back of your tv use your input not the output and other way if have a front input in your tv you can plug in. pls see the link the input at the front and at the back input and output

Not all VCRs can be used to play a DVD player through them. Newer ones have a chip that scrambles the image when you do this to prevent you from copying the DVD to VHS.
