Why has my TV suddenly gone grainy?

Our Panasonic Big Screen TV has suddenly gone from all colors to having Green people and things in it. Why?

  • It's a 38 Inch Television and we just got it this year. We had wondered if it was the Cable company. But the other TV is working just fine in the bedroom.

Not much detail on the question, which could help me answer it. A few things, it could be one of the tubes if it is a CRT, or it could be a few other things. Is this happening with multiple sources (dvd player, cable box, and vcr?) or is it just happening through one source? What I would try doing, is unplugging, and replugging in of all the cables, if one was unplugged partially that could be your issue. Otherwise, I would call panasonic to see what they recommend, or email me with further details on your tv. Good luck, I hope they can help 1-800-211-PANA (7262) Call Center Operating Hours Mon-Fri 9:00 AM - 9:00 PM EST Sat-Sun 10:00 AM - 7:00 PM EST

If your TV is a CRT (cathode ray tube) TV, their are three tubes to produce color, Red, Green and Blue. If one of the tubes stops working, you will see an over-saturation of a particular color. It sounds like repair is needed, but the cost might be beyond the value of the TV.

it sounds like its the tv, but its fairly new, so thats weird whats it doing. try resetting the tv's settings and see if that helps, also if its less than a year old, then its still under warranty, so if you can't figure out what is going on then take advantage of the warranty.
