How to program a universal remote?

How do I program a philips universal remote for an rca tv?

• I have been trying to program the remote by using this website: http://www.universal-remote.net/philipsmagnavox.html. However, my remote doesn't say magnavox anywhere on it so i'm not sure if it is the right code. My remote only says philips universal. My tv is an RCA Home Theater. I have also tried the method of holding the setup button, pressing the tv button, and then channeling up or down until the channel changes and then hitting the power button or the first three steps and then hitting the mute button. Any help would be really appreciated!!

Philips Universal Remote Codes For RCA TVs: 0704, 0002, 0406, 0007, 0011, 0611, 0811, 0312, 0514, 0720, 0102, 0502, 0601, 0817, 0917, 0835, 0901, 0103, 0803, 0211, 0912, 0114, 0519, 0320, 0420 Direct code entry 1 Turn on the device (TV, DVR, etc.) you wish to operate. 2 Press and hold the SETUP button until the red light indicator remains lit, then release the SETUP button. 3 Press and release the desired mode button (TV, DVR, etc.). The red light indicator flashes, then remains lit. 4 Enter one of the 4 digit code. 5 With the device turned on, press several buttons to test if the device responds. If the device responds properly, you have successfully found a valid code for your device. 6 Repeat steps 1 to 4 for other devices you wish to set up the remote control for. Notes After a valid code entry, the red light indicator turns off. For an invalid code, the red light indicator flashes first, then turns off.
