How do you hookup the DVD player?

My tv's only jack is coaxial...which cable do I need to hookup vcr/dvd player?

  • Tv is a super old toshiba and the only plug in is a 75 ohm coaxial. The vhs/dvd player is a phillips, not too old...it has a coaxial jack, a s-vid jack and a/v (obviously)... I don't have a cable to connect them, which one do I buy? Will it work if i just get coaxial on both sides? Don't I need a coaxial side for the tv and a/v for the vcr? (i cannot find this online btw) Please help!!!

    You can all the stuff you need at Radio shack or similer place a rf modulator RG6 coaxle cable take a picture of what you ned to connect they will gladly show you how to connect all what you need You might be bettoff getting a new TV you can get a 32" for under $300 and some smaller ones under $100

You can get a cheap coaxial cable and connect the coax out from the DVD player and connect it to the coax in on the TV. Any coaxial cable would work, so long as the plugs fit. It won't look as good as using the A/V cables, but if you can't use them by themselves, then it won't be worth it. Converting the A/V to coax will look exactly the same as just using coax the whole time. So save yourself a few bucks and just use the coax cable.

you may buy an RF MODULATOR....connect you device RCA yellow red and white to it and it to tv antenna jack.......then search tv for a new program......and store it .

The VCR should out put over coax, and you'll tune the TV to channel 3 (or 4). The VCR will have composite (yellow / white) inputs, that you can use for video games, etc. - 17R3W

You need to get a BetaMax player to connect between the DVD player and the TV set. Most Wal-Marts carry them.
