How to fix the 2" horizontal display in TV screen?

  • My TV only shows a approximately 2inches of horizontal display, its not just a line, it shows like it is a normal screen of tv where there is like ants moving in the screen but only 2" is displayed then a 'horizontal line' at the bottom of it (the 'horizontal line' i am saying is the normal problem when the pins of the IC break away from the solder joint). I am suspecting it about the voltage intake of the IC but i am confused wheres the source (Vcc) of the IC located (is it in flyback, SMPST, or HDT?). orion TVCR0950BW 17" - 19" screen with VHS player problem: only 2inches horizontal display visible. action taken: replaced filter capacitor (i found it already leaked) replaced vertical IC (nothing happens) looking for the B+ of switch mode power supply transformer (don't know where to start) ----------------------- can someone also be my mentor about TV repairs ??

    The 100 (to 220) ufd 25 (to 35) volt feedback (pump-up) electrolytic is defective.

You will need a schematic diagram. I don't have one for that model but you might find one if you google the model number. I suspect the Vcc is flyback derived and is probably around 27 volts at the IC. If you have 20 some odd volts at the Vcc connection of the IC then your problem lies elsewhere. Look at the coupling capacitor from the output of the IC to the deflection yoke.. It may be open. This is pure guessing on my part based on similar problems I have serviced in the past.
