What brand of LCD TVs is the best?

What's the best brand of LCD or Plasma TVs out there that also does not cost me my life savings.LOL?

    There is a good brand called Olevia. Not sure if you can get i in the states but you can get it in Canada. They were called the " Best Buy" by a lot of magazines. They have good picture with a good price

we got a 42" Westinghouse LCD for $900. but the surround sound is what really broke me. having to buy all those extra wires and now i have like five remote controls and my friend come over and they don't know how to change the channel or turn down the volume. i think it takes a degree to use my entertainment center now.

I've been wondering about this myself. I think what fifamonk says is true. Olevia is a good one, you can even see them at walmart. I do NOT recommend buying a SONY tv. I paid 3000 $ for a high def 50 inch sony tv and I've had nothing but problems with it. The first week I had it, the bulb burned out. Then 2 weeks later the lamp driver board burned up. Luckily still covered under warranty. Now that its not under warranty and only about 3.5 years old, the lcd is beginning to go on it. Started out with one pixel now its many that are burned out. I don't even wanna know what its going to cost to get that whole screen replaced. My other sony 32 inch tv that weighs as much as a tank is total junk also. The soldering on it was done in mexico and it shorts out alot. So stayyyyyyyyyyyy far away from sony tvs, they just suck anymore. Who needs to pay the big price for total junk? peace
