Can I watch local channels on my HDTV?

How can I watch high definition CABLE channels if my tv set has only HDTV monitor?

  • Answer:

First, you need a HD cable box....got that? Next, your HDTV monitor gets HD thru the COMPONENT JACKS the DVI JACKS and the HDMI JACKS.... Your HD Cable box will have either COMPONENT or HDMI.... Connect the two together using the proper cabling....and don't get the $200 Monster cables.....the SIGNAL is DIGITAL to begin with and all you need is a reasonably good cable... NOT CHEAPEST....maybe just one step higher...I'll buy a $40 to $60 HDMI cable rather than a $120 cable Component cables are the next best situation, not cheap and not MONSTER......

You would need a HD capable reciever

You need to order a HD receiver from your cable company.

You need a HD box from your cable co or your dish co has them also.I had the same issue. Most of the new TVs have integrated HD units in them. But with a box you will get just as good of a picture as the integrated TVs.

listen to Reggie... get the hd cable box. It will probably come w/ component cable (red, green, blue), but get the hdmi cable from Walmart as long as your tv has an hdmi input
