What is a good, well priced pc to buy?

What is better, a smart tv, or a home theather pc hooked up to a stardad HD TV?

• i been thinking about getting a new tv, and while im at it i may be spending a little extra to buy a smart tv, all the hype and commercials make them look very cool, but on the other side, im begining to see all the limitations, and im almost made of my mind that they are not worth it, they are over priced and very limited, so i think ill be better buying a full hd led tv, that its very well priced, and buy some parts and make myself a small home theather pc, usind the new AMD APUS, i think its better, will be cheaper ans more powerfull, even powerfull enough to play some games on the integrated graphics, while the smart tvs only have games like angry birds and stuff and for i have heard most of them can not even suport flash i been thinking on make one like this myself http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6pNCCk21Cv4 olny that bigger, cheaper and stronger, put XBMC on it and control it whith a xbox 360 controler and chatpad what do you think?

  I think you're right to consider the limitations of current Smart TVs. Pretty much everything they give you (that's useful) you can get on a laptop, tablet, or smartphone. But it's the promise of convergence that they offer that eventually will make them worthwhile. Giving an easy, high quality way to operate and view content on the TV in conjunction with those other devices. So at this point geting a high quality home theatre would seem a good idea. You can get an add on Smart box that can add the smart capability. The problem will come later this year if and when Apple (or maybe some other manufacturer) produce a truly Smart TV.
