Answer:
It depends on what your using it for. Plasma is cheap but big like 50 inches for about $600. But the quality isn't the best. LCD are better and more affordable and the video quality is pretty good. LCD are good for watching TV. THe LED TV's are the best but a little expensive 40 inches is about $800 - $1000 they are good for hardcore gaming. I personally recommend buying the LCD because its mid range. Good Quality and Not so Expensive. I use the Sony 46EX400 it runs around $800 but I got a new one for $549 on black friday at Ultimate Electronics Best of Luck to buy your new TV!!

Well, I see a lot of crazy answers..but here is mine.. LCD and LED are very similar.. LED is thinner, due to a different type of backlighting.... The downside of LCD/LED is slow response time, causing a lag or blur on fast action.. It can be reduced by a high refresh rate of at least 120 hz. However, this can mess up some TV and movie viewing with strange artifacts.....The LED uses the least power, but all are not that big a difference. The best pick, (IMO) is a plasma, if you want a larger TV.. Why? A plasma has a very wide viewing angle, excellent colors and blacks, and NO blur on fast action or sports, due to its very fast response time.. (No refresh rates needed.) Newer plasmas, do not have much of a chance for burn-in with newer technologies in electronic orbiting, and phosphors.. A plasma has the same lifespan as any other HDTV.. (Average, 60,000 hours.) In any case, get a good name brand.!!

Led is the newest thinnest best quality and most Eco friendly tv so I would advise you to get an led tv but if none of them matter to you get an LCD tv but don't get a plasma tv as they are bad quality bad for the environment the thickest flat screen tvs you can get

It is difficult to answer your question without knowing what is important to you personally. Need to know: 1) your budget 2) approximate viewing distance 3) if weight of TV is a factor in your decision 4) if you are concerned with power usage vs your budget 5) if you want excellent viewing quality or are willing to settle for most any display
