Black is a color even white is considered color, then y black and white tv is not called color tv?

You're not looking at the big picture, It's called a black and white tv becuase the only two colors that you see are "BLACK and WHITE"!! If you wanna call it a black and white color tv, have at it!! The other is called a color because you can see every color under the sun!

I think you will find that black and white are considered shades not colors,

that's because all dark colors such as brown, purple, blue and red, are black on t.v. And all light colors such as yellow, orange, pink, and silver are white on t.v. So why call it color t.v. when you don't see all the true colors. It's just black and white.

Actually black is no color, or the lack of any color and white is on the other end of the color spectum. colors go from white to a dark purple before there is a lack of color. But as mention and correct to be a color TV you would need colors (multi) not just shades of gray.

THEY ONLY HAVE 2 COLORS , BLACK & WHITE THEN CHECK IT OUT, WATCH A "COLOR" SET . YOU WILL NOTICE MORE THAN 2 COLORS, IF YOU ARN'T COLOR BLIND.

Black and White Tv is "Monochromatic" Tv....ONE COLOR, or the absence of One Color..... True Color TV provides "All the colors of the Rainbow" Every color combination possible on the Color Wheel.... Black and White TV can't produce all the colors....that's why they don't call it Color TV..... It's a comparative term being used.....Color TV
