Which is better Direct TV or Comcast?

Which cable company is the best? Comcast, Direct TV or Dish Network.?

  • I currently have comcast. Wondering which company has good service but is also affordable. what bad thing have you heard about any of these companies?

  • Answer:

First, a minor detail: DirecTV and Dish are satellite services, not cable. As for comparisons, they all have terrific deals to get you to sign up. After the initial period ends, you'll be paying their regular retail rate for service. In comparing costs at that point, you'll find that there isn't much difference among the 3 if you carefully consider all expenses for the same types of service. Remember that with satellite, you need to add in the cost of a separate Internet service. I had Comcast for 5 years and have 2 neighbors with DirecTV. We all got about the same channels and paid about the same amount each month for our services. As for that other answer with the vulgar ranting about Comcast, Cox, and AT&T, let's just say that his claims are in no way reflected by my experience and that of many others in my area. We have AT&T U-Verse, the service and features are as good or better than anyone else, and no one ever asked me for my social security number.

DirectTV has better programming options but Dish Network has the best Equipment. Dish Network's equipment has NO LAG, few advertisements, provides better episode information... DirectTV's equipment takes FOREVER to do something as simple as change the channel... You can't "Auto Tune" shows, only record on their HD DVR Receiver... But I got a better price and better network options through DirectTV... I WISH WISH WISH WISH WISH that Techs from DirectTV would just go and get a few Dish Network Boxes and figure out how, exactly, to replicate their quality equipment and smooth use. A friend of mine has Comcast and their box usage is even slower than DirectTV's... FU*K COMCAST... FU*K COX CABLE... FU*K AT&T... They are stagnating their user's internet connections... Bottling their "Unlimited" speed and usage. AT&T claims that ALL information provided to them is "Their" information to use as they please... Including your Social Security Number...

Squeezle Meat.

I have tried them all and really, they're all pretty good. Dish seems to have among the best deals for new subscribers, will save you some real money up front. Mr. "Squeezle" 's answer is a bunch of baloney

dish network is by far the best quality and price, u get more for ur buck and less trouble and cutomer service is really good

Hmmm... my understanding is that Direct and Dish are Satellite and Comcast is cable. However to answer the question, Comcast is pretty reliable, problems rarely, every so often that usually don't last long, where the satellite companies have problems with delivery when it rains. Comcast is for TV viewing and internet, but I don't know about the satellite companies delivering internet.

I've had all 3. Comcast has ON DEMAND but I still like Dish Network better for the DVR which is only $6 a month and basically LIKE on demand with many many more choices. That's how I think of it. When I had Direct TV the signal would go out a lot in bad wether ( and I live in MN where it snows !). So I currently have DN. Which I reccomend :)
