Answer:
Well good brands are Panasonic, Sony, Samsung, LG, Toshiba, and Sharp. But you need to go beyond just brands. All manufacturers have entry level models, mid-range models, and high end models. Its better to be looking at the mid to high end choices. The entry level models, even by better brands, can sometimes not really be that great in image quality. At 32", some models to consider, Panasonic TC-L32X1- $600 @ Best Buy - my personal favorite in image quality in a TV of this size Panasonic TC-L32C12 - $500 @ Best Buy - I can't recall the difference between this and the X1 above, I think its quite minimal though, so this might be the better buy from Panasonic at 32" Samsung LN32B460 - $550 on sale @ Best Buy - a very strong choice in the 32" class because of its price and its image quality. If I didn't go Panasonic, I'd likely go with this one. Samsung LN32B640 - $800 @ Best Buy right now - but it has some high end tech specs that are a bit overkill for a TV of this size; amazing set for sure, but perhaps just too much for a 32" Sony KDL-32XBR9 - $750 on sale @ Best Buy right now - like the above Samsung, really good set, some high end features, but perhaps a bit heavy on the price for a 32" set Sony KDL-32L5000 - $500 on sale at Best Buy right now - another really strong performer for the price and size LG 32LF11 - $530 on sale at Best Buy right now - good price for a 1080p set at this size. You don't need 1080p at 32' though. In most cases you are wasting your money on 1080p if you're under 40". But with the sale, this becomes a viable choice I know there are some sub-$500 options out there from some no-name brands. But I think realistically, to get a solid set, you should be looking at in around $500-600 at 32". There is never any guarantee with any particular model from any particular brand, but I think these ones will be your safer bets for sure.

32 inc HD 720 P model from . Sony.Samsung.Sharp.Panasonic.LG.Toshiba are equally Quality ! ( of course not for big screen model ). The above 6 brand 32 inc model are reliable ! you will enjoy it for more than 10 years! LCD TV / Electronics products can give trouble. but 32 inc LCD TV from them breakdown rate is less than 1.5 % . You paid a bit more to above 6 brand. but is worth for it ! Avoid any local or in house brand. there are very " cheap ". because there don't made any things by own ! all by small TV manufactures in China. use low quality parts. end up you paid more. usually such local/in-house TV brand, breakdown rate is 10 % or more. 30 % need to replace LCD display panel in 2-3 years times.if you want CHEAP. and use the TV for 3 years.go for that ! even products come with warranty , but keeps send back for repair may make you mad.also costs transport charge .

Panasonic and Toshiba are good, not Sony. My experience with Sony products has been bad. My Sony trinitron lasted only 4 years while my Toshiba is still alive and its been 12 years

Sony is the most popular, and I would recommend it.

If you search for deals on the web,and stores in your area.....often you can find discontinued or close outs on popular brands. I found a Samsung 37" LN37A450 that normally goes for $850,I paid $530 for it.Also in my opinion,720p is good enough for 32".....anything more is not really noticed. A TV is a major purchase ....so really look around.
