Whats the deference between battery powered 3D glasses or regular 3D glasses for 3D TVs?

  • i got a 3D tv a few months ago and i love it i just got done watching avatar and the 3D was amazing, so here is my question. i just want to know what the deference is between the glasses on my tv i use regular 3D glasses but i see that they sell battery powered glassed i just want to know the deference are the the battery powered glasses better if so how much and should i buy a pair.

    The difference is that is Active Shutter 3D glasses (which takes batteries) and passive 3D glasses (no batteries required) There are Pros and Cons of each type! Active (using battery) can produce better picture quality but can be expensive. They are fragile and can be a bit heavier then passive 3D glasses.. and lastly, usually one band only works i with one TV. Passive 3d glasses are cheaper, lighter, and more comfortable. However they can produce less of a 3D image.

The battery powered glasses are called active glasses, the others are passive.. I do not like 3D TV. Especially withy the active glassses. A lot of eyestrain from the inperceptable flicker effect, and causes some people headaches. There is not much 3D to view other than from a Blu Ray DVD.. I watch my 3D in a theatre. On a small TV, it is best viewed from the center also.. I'm waiting for the Toshiba glasses free 3D TV...

You can only use the type of glasses that are made for your TV system. They aren't interchangeable.
