What is the difference between LCD TV and LCD monitor?

Difference between LCD computer monitor and LCD TV?

  • When I asked for a 21inch LCD TV it cost me Rs.40000. But when I brought a LCD monitor 17" and an external TV tuner card it cost me only Rs.14000. Is there any difference between LCD monitor and LCD TV

  • Answer:

LCD TVs have more input capabilities like cable ready coaxial, or component cable. A monitor will only have a serial, digital serial, or possible a usb(though that's for only really High-end monitors). If you look at the back of a LCD TV it should have an average of 6 different input/output connections, where as a monitor should have an average of 2.

the only difference is the tv tuner and other features that enhances tv watching like color schemes, audio settings etc... so tv has a few features with it but for picture quality it's basically the same tv has more fine tuning capabilities

A monitor has typically only 1 input and no tuner. While a TV has multiple inputs and outputs and a tuner.
