My PS3 is not working.

Why isn't my ps3 displaying in 1080 p? Any ps3 experts? Still not working.... 10 points thx?

• I have a Samsung HDTV with full hd that displays 1080 p with only one outlet. So I bought a hdmi selector to plug in my hdmi cord to back of my ps3. When I go to display settings it says the current output resolution: 480 i. I tried clicking HDMI but the screen just goes blank for 30 secs. I tried clicking AV Multi/Scart and it allows me to change settings but won't let me change it to 1080 p. I go back to the main page and it still says 480 i. I have hdmi cords and selector and everything plugged into back of my ps3 why isn't it changing the settings? (I don't want to hear dumb answers like ps3 games cannot play 1080 p only plays 480 i or only bluray can play 1080 p.. No... ps3 supposed to play 1080 p some games only allow 720 p but you're supposed to play ps3 in 1080 p that's why I bought it...) I have a 1080 p full hdtv and a hdmi selector with the hdmi cord hooked onto back of my ps3. The reason I bought a hdmi selector is because I only had 1 input which is for my hdtv. I tried taking that out and putting my ps3 hdmi cord onto that onput but that won't work. So it's either my hdmi selector is a piece of crap and not allowing me to connect hd. I don't know what it is. I went to display settings > video output settings tried clicking hdmi and my tv just turns blank for 30 secs. What is the problem? Why isn't my ps3 letting me change my settings from 480 i to 1080 p?

  you need to change the input on the tv to hdmi it didnt work for me at first either keep trying. The its but when it works everythings smaller just to tell u bet its amazing looking good luck
