How long do LCD HD TVs last?

Are LCD TVs HD Ready?

  • Are all LCD TVs HD ready or only certain types?

  • Answer:

Only certain ones and you also need to know that on a good many of them they DO NOT pick up regular broadcast channels and you need some sort of receiver (usually from your cable company) to view anything.

There are some HD ready TV's out there. The only ones that are HD ready will have a Cable Card reader in them and you have to get the Cable Card from your cable company.

They will say so. could be yes could be no depending on the model. If it is widescreen and a new model it is very certain that it will be HD ready.

Not all LCD TVs are HD ready but with the correct connections they can take an HD signal. Its all to do with the number of lines on the screen that are used that makes the picture hi def (there are 2 HD types - 720p, 1080i). Pretty much all LCDs have the same number of lines so they can all give the HD picture its just connections. If you haven't got an HDMI connection or DVI there is a possibility to conrct with component outputs.
