I am looking for a wall mountable big screen TV, above 37 in, for my house. Which shud I go for-LCD or Plasma?

My Plasma TVs had a much shorter life span than the LCD type TVs I recently purchased. If you go with a plasma buy the extended warranty, which includes maintenance and replacement. With extended usage, plasma TVs are prone to burn out and if the manufacturer's warranty has lapsed you're in for a hefty repair bill. However, they offer a superb picture. In either case, if you're shelling out major bucks---look into insurance/ extended warranties for either type. I learned this lesson the hard way. i prefer that you must usethe plasma one because it gives away high quality pictures and it is more popular. Hey! Do you have used colored phones there?

go LCD!!! plasmas have been known to burn out due to the tv getting its screen projection from gasses.. the gas will burn out and your tv will no longer be any good! it doesnt matter if someone tells you the plasma is a 1st/ 2nd/ 3rd generation tv.. plasmas are heavier and have less color... LCD's are a gel type just like your flat screen computer... very light, good color, last forever... get the LCD!!!

DO NOT buy a plasma tv. The life span of a plasma is 10 years. Each year depending on use the plasma picture gets darker. After 5 years the picture will be half as bright as when you purchased it. This is the reason why they are cheaper. LCDs have a bulb in them that you replace every few years. That keeps the picture nice and bright. There is a reason they are cheaper, its because they wear out alot faster. BUY an LCD!!!
