Is DVR recording on the wrong TV?

When recording programs from the tv, which device is the best(DVR or video or DVD recorder)?

  • I know nothing about this technology, I only know that when my favorite shows are on at impossible hours(late at night or when I am at work) I want to be able to watch them at a convenieant hour. Pls, I really do not know nothing about what a DVR is or does, is it a video or something more? What should I buy? I also heard about tv-tuners which delay the tv program, like what was on at 1 am can be delayed to be on at 6 a,m. Is this true? I would ask my friends, but they say I am stupid for not getting this technology. Also what kind of video/DVR/tuner should I get, which are the characteristics I should be looking for?

  • Answer:

If you're not planning to archive and preserve the stuff for a very long time, then DVR is the best technology you can use. It has a huge hard drive, that can record about 100 hours, works 24 X 7, delayed & scheduled recording etc. DVD is good if you're archiving stuff and then also want to watch the recording elsewhere outside your house. You can also get a dual tuner, dual output DVR that can support two televisions and will allow you to record one program while you're watching another. Take care.
