How can i get free cable in another room?

How can get my cable premium channels (paid for) in other room(s) without another cable box?

  • OK, I'm cheap, I admit it. But it burns me that I have to pay the cable company an extra 10 bucks a month to have a another cable box in another room to get the premium channels that I already pay for once. Is there a way to broadcast my signal from the cable box to the rest of the house or another room? I know the SLING device will broadcast to a web address so I wondered why not just to the other room? I'm not looking for ways to cheat the cable guy, just looking for a way to not pay twice... or more times for the same programming.

    You need to split the output of the cable box. So before the cable box 'out' reaches your TV, you need to use a 2-way or 3-way splitter (however many rooms you want this to work on.) Each 'out' of the splitter needs to go to each separate room you want premiums in. The only drawback is you will have the 'sports bar syndrome'. All TV's wired this way will change channels at the same time. Whatever channel the cable box is on will always be on all 3 TV's.

Have your cable company or an approved certified installation tech install the terminal boxes, wiring and outlets into the rooms where you want service. Don't let just anyone attempt this task. It is not brain surgery, but neither is it a plug-and-play installation. It takes some skill, training. I would not let a 'first-timer' try it, nor even try it myself. If you go cheap and let an inept 'friend' do it, you may pay the price, Friend. Good luck.

You only have one tuner you can use at a time for these premium channels and that is the one being outputted from your premium cable box. To get that signal somewhere else you could take the coax output off the box and plug it into another TV to get the channel being currently tuned on that box. But no way I can think of to get a separate tuner going independent to the one box.
