Watch 3D on a normal tv or computer screen?

If you download a movie in 3D are you able to watch it on your computer or on a regular tv (with 3D-glasses of course!)?

Newer 3D movies require special glasses, and regular TVs/monitors are unable to reproduce the rapid switching between frames that's required to generate a 3D effect.
