Is an indoor HD antenna good?

Where can I find a good HDTV with built-in HD receiver? Also, what HD antenna to receive local HD 56 miles?

  • Don't want to pay the $10 extra monthly fee for the satellite compaines HD receiver so would like a built-in HD receiver. The local station towers are 56 miles away so I will need a good HD antenna.

  • Answer:

All television manufactured after a certain date are required to have digital tuners. While these do not have to be HDTV, nearly all of them are if the set's display supports HDTV. So any recently- manufactured set will have a built-in tuner. Edit: I just noticed your antenna question. The best way to find out is to go to http://www.antennaweb.org/aw/welcome.aspx. You enter your home address and get everything you need to know about selecting an antenna.

You can get a good 26 inch Polaroid HDTV with HDMI input and a full array of components to plug stuff into, built in tuner, its wide screen 16:9 and has 1366x768 contrast ratio for about 600-750 bucks, and as for over the air HD signals, you can get an indoor antenna, or preferrably an outdoor one, then just go to the Terk website to find out which way to point it to get the best reception
