My Samsung TV wont work?

Would a Samsung 120Hz TV work with a LG 60Hz DVD Player?

  • We are thinking about getting a Samsung 120Hz TV and a LG 60Hz DVD Player, but would they work together since they are different Hz? Or would the TV downgrade to 60 Hz? The TV is a Smart TV so do you need a special DVD player to access that feature? http://www.lg.com/us/tv-audio-video/home-theater-systems/LG-LHB306.jsp http://www.samsung.com/us/video/tvs/UN55C6900VFXZA The sound system does come with a DVD player, right? Also, do you need a special HDMI cord for the two? Are there different speeds.

  • Answer:

60Hz is _normal_. The TV takes a 60Hz signal and simply displays it twice as often. LHB306 can play bluray and regular dvds: Disc Playback Capability Blu-ray Disc™, BD-R/RE, DVD, DVD-R, DVD-RW There are different versions for HDMI, 1.3 has been around for 5 years (since 2006) so it is unlikely that you'd find older cables for sale, so any HDMI cable would work. You might see 1.4 cables for a higher price than 1.3 cables, but the 1.4 cables are overkill, they would work fine though.
