What's better, Comcast digital cable or DirecTV?

Have had Comcast "expanded basic" cable forever at $46/mo. Will soon buy an HDTV and considering either digital cable or DirecTV. Digital cable appears to be $46 + $12 for programming + $10 for extra box and digital outlet = $68, for a package that seems comparable to the basic DirecTV for $42. Am I missing something?

DirecTV will look 10,000 times better on an HD set than cable and their noisy analog signals. All satellite programs are sent digital, while cable only sends some of the channels digitally. Be sure to see what HD programs you get with DirecTV for that price. at the very least, the reciever you get from them should allow you to hook up an off air antenna for local HD programming.

Comcast service is horrible. I have had nothing but trouble. The quality is totally different from comast to directv. I have tried comcast 3 times -- all failed. Directv even offers HD locals in a lot of markets.
