Why were my Movie Channels taken away by Comcast?

Help with HD channels?

  • I always had dishnetwork with HD and dvr and I just moved into a new home so I had a professional from dishnetwork came by and reinstalled my dishnetwork w/ HD and dvr. I am using the same HD/dvr receiver and the same plasma (1080p) from my old house but now a new dish and wires. The problem is the HD channels does not look as clear as when I had it at my old house. Me, my wife, and the kids notice a slight difference with the HD channels. I told the guy after he finished installing my dish but he said that the channels looks good to him. Anyways what might be the problem? I played a bluray movie on my tv (since my tv has 1080i max it would be the same quality as a HD channel) and it is a lot more clearer compared to my HD channels. I also made sure all the cable wires are connected tightly but I will not go on top of my roof and mess with the dish. Any ideas on what might the problem be? Or should I switch to comcast w/ HD? How's the quality between comcast HD vs dish network HD? Thanks guys

  • Answer:

More channels in HD with Dish network. Stay with them unless your having reception problems, or its cheaper to bundle with cable. Sometimes when the box's are unplugged for a while they can lose there HD settings. Those "professionals" are outsourced workers that are hired per job by Dish, so he prob. just said that to get paid and go on to his next job. Make sure the box is outputting 720p/1080i on the HD channels. Many times you have to go into the settings of the box and tell it to do this, by changing the resolution it is outputting. Obviously you just moved homes, and you didnt get new service or a new TV, so the picture should look the same once the settings are back to normal. Try to reference your manual for the box itself, and if you dont have it, google the model number of the box, and im sure the manual will be on the website of whoever made the box itself. Or contact Dish for a copy. I deal with the outsourced workers all day, and they for the most part, garbage.
