How Do I Get My HDTV to work with my digital cable box from Sudden link?

• my tv has HDTV (threads) to hook up a cable right next to TV input (threads) if i hook up the digital box to the HDTV input it says serching for channels and never finds them....so how do i get it to work since i spent so much money on this HDTV?!?!?

Set up basic cable TV in only 14 minutes1. Connect the RF (coaxial) cable from the wall to the CABLE IN port on the set-topbox.1 minute2. Connect the video cable from the set-top to the TVFor a standard TV, connect the video cable (yellow plug) from the set-top VIDEO OUTport to the TV VIDEO IN port.For an HDTV, connect the Y, Pb, Pr cable (green, blue, and red plugs) from the Y, PB, Prports on the set-top box to the Y, Pb, PR ports on the HDTV set.3 minutes3. Connect the audio cable from the set-top to the TV.Connect the audio cable (red and white plugs) from the AUDIO L and R OUT ports onthe set-top to the AUDIO L and R IN ports on the TV.2 minutes4.
