Best TV Converter Box?

So there is this new law about no more receiving analog or rabbit-eared TV. I was just wondering with the coupons being given away, which is the best tv converter box offered? * AMTC AT-2016 * AccessHD DTA1010U * AccessHD DTA1020U * AccessHD DTA1010D * AccessHD DTA1020D * Apex DT1001 * Apex DT1002 * Artec T3A * Artec T3APro * CASTi CAX-01 * COSHIP N9900T * Digital Stream DSP7500T * Digital Stream DSP6500R * DigitalSTREAM D2A1D10 * DigitalSTREAM D2A1D20 * DigitalSTREAM DTX9900 * ECHOSTAR TR-40* * GE 22729 * GE 22730 * Goodmind DTA900 * Goodmind DTA1000 * Goodmind DTA980 * Insignia NS-DXA1 * Kingbox K8V8 * Lasonic LTA-260 * Lasonic LTR-260 * Magnavox TB100MW9 * Magnavox TB-100MG9* * MaxMedia MMDTVB03 * MicroGEM MG2000 * Microprose MPI-500 * Mustek MAT-K50 * OLEVIA DTA100 * Philco TB150HH9* * Philco TB100HH9*

Answer:
I've heard a lot of great things about the Insignia DXA1 that is selling in Best Buy stores all around the country for $59.99 ($19.99 with coupon). There have been very few problems with the converter box, although I have heard a few, but they were just with certain individual boxes. I myself plan on buying this converter box when my coupons arrive. If you'd like to read a nice sized review from a WTFDA member, I have posted a link below that you can follow to the forum page. Before I read this review I had my eyes set on the Magnavox converter box, but this review led to many more, so I could investigate and find out more about the Insignia, and now I don't want anything to do with the Magnavox.

So far there are only 3 models that are in enough hands to have some user reports. Of these three the Zenith DTT900 (or it's clone, Best Buy's Insignia NS-DXA1) seems to be the best. That's what I bought with my first coupon. The RCA DTA800B (Walmart) seems good to. You can read discussion threads at the links below. More models should be showing up in stores over the next few months; I'd tend to wait until some more models show up in stores. The Insignia box works great but it would be nice to have a better remote, a better closed caption layout, and a direct way to control the TV's volume. The RCA DTA800B's quirk is that the only way to add channels is to rescan which wipes the previous scan; there is no way to manually add channels. If you have to adjust your antenna to receive channels from different directions, this would be a problem.

I'd prefer the ECHOSTAR or the RCA...but why not just buy the one at your LOCAL Best Buy store. Let them figure out what is the best in your location.....
