How do you develop pictures?

• Hi, I've never developed digital pictures before, so I don't know much about it. Is it a "do-it-yourself" sort of thing, or someone prints out the pictures for you? I saved all my pictures in a CD...do places like Walmart still accept CDs or do they require USB, or some other newer technology? I'd like to print out pictures to give to my parents for Christmas, so I also want to know how long these pictures usually take to develop? And what if the pictures are not the right resolution? If it is "do-it-yourself", will pictures with wrong resolutions still be developed? If it's not do-it-yourself, do the people at the counter tell you they can't print it, and they'll just select the ones they can? Sorry for so many questions, but any help will be appreciated!

  you do not "develop" picture, but "edit" and applying filter or effects to it. I guess this is what you trying to ask. You can use program like Adobe Photoshop.
