What type of digital camera should i buy?

What type of digital camera should I buy if I want good quality and affordability?

  • I do a lot of traveling and I want a good-quality, affordable (less than $300), point-and-shoot digital camera to take shots of landscapes and such. I would also use it for regular daily photos, such as profiles and family photos. I don't want it to be so expensive that I would have to constantly worry about it, but I want the photos to be clear, good coloring, able to work in low-light settings, and easy to use. Any help would be great!

    I suggest for about $200- the Fuji S1600. Has lots of optical zoom, and you can do a lot with it rather than always leaving it on auto. Has very good image quality

Nikon Coolpix L100. They Have 15x Optical Zoom For macros, Too. They are About $280.00

I don't think these fit the under $300 limit but I am glad you gave us a starting point. I am retired and these are the two I finally considered for much the same purpose Canon SX20 IS and The Kodak Z981 both a little over your limit, but worth it.
