Which camera would be better?

Which camera is better? (Fujifilm finepix s2970) or (Sony cybershot DSC-W570) they are both the same price!?

  • For christmas I want to get a proffesional camera to help me with my art GCSE. I wanted one which looked good aswell (a big black one) and I found the camera FujiFilm (Finepix s2970). It has 14mp, 18X optical zoom, and other good manual features, more details about the camera can be found on this link- http://www.fujifilm.eu/uk/products/digital-cameras/bridge/model/finepix-s2950/ This camera costs £129.99 and that is the max my mum will pay for a camera. I then came across another camera made by sony (sony cybershot W570 Digital compact camera). The look of the camera itself is very basic, average looking camera and doesnt look like a proffesinal camera but the features are better than the other camera. It has 16.1mp but only 5X optical zoom but has more features such as panoramic sweep and alot of complex features. (http://www.sony.co.uk/product/dsc-w-series/dscw570b.ceh#pageType=Overview) Both the cameras cost £129.99 Overall I'm not sure which camera to buy, one with more features but not as good looking, or a camera which looks good and also is good but doesnt consist of many features. If you could spare your time to look at the links and give your own opinion which one is better or if any one owns one of the two makes of cameras what is good/bad about it. Thankyou :-)

  • Answer:

I have the Sony cybershot one and it is really easy to use and practical. But I have heard a lot of positive comments/feedback about fujitsus. I would go for the simplest in use since only in that way can a camera be benificial for a photographer. Technical features are less important, though definitely worth looking at. Take both of them in your hand and see which suits you best. Good purchase! Merry Christmas

Sony Cybershot. MUCH more durable, and it even beats the Nikon Coolpix, which is the same price as well, in picture quality. Great pictures, and that camera lasts.

It really depends what sort of work you want to do !

They aren't professional cameras - you would pay 30x that for a pro camera! The Fuji is a bridge camera that will geive you greater control over the exposure nad has the look and feel of a DSLR. Downside is that it is big and bulky The Sony is a point-and-shoot that is far more compact so is easier to carry around. Either would be good - try both and get the one you like best.
