Do LED Flash use material that runs out?
-
Hello I just bought a new phone with a camera and LED flash. I'm pretty excited to use a camera(my first time!), but my dad said that I should use the flash wisely and only occasionally because it uses a certain chemical to produce light and it will quickly run out if I use it too often. I did a bit of research on LED flash in cameras, but it says that LED produces light through electrical current and I didn't find anything involving the use of chemicals to produce light. Is this true? Thanks in advance!

Answer:
By the time that LED burns out, your phone will be a memory. Flash away. Even if your dad was right, you will get a new phone before that happened. And your right, its purely electrical and LEDs are touted as lasting longer than regular bulbs.
