How much does a 2GB memory card usually cost?

Go to www.dealram.com. You'll find a very good website that provides pricing for RAM and memory cards...these will be the cheapest way to get cards without rebates "off the shelf." Dealnews.com might have some "specials" such as rebates or prices that are a limited time only. Note though, that the cheapest ones that are not specials from dealnews.com tend to be "generics" for memory cards, as opposed to Kingston or Sandisk. Usually it's pretty reliable, but I remember a few years ago i did get a generic CF card that would corrupt files every once in a while, which was irritating. Never had a problem like this with the other "name brand" cards I got.

those look like fair prices. however, what brand are they? I'd stick to the popular brands like sandisk, kingston, and PNY, and the better brands. I hear no name brands tend to get corrupted.

Those prices are about right. I paid $24.95 for a Lexar Platinum II a month ago.

Many websites have this but if you buy online you usually pay for shipping, find a place like PC Richard or Best Buy near where you live to avoid another $8 - $12 shipping fees. Online, Xd or SD type 2Gb run $30-$40.
