What type of digital camera should I buy in my price range?

  • Im 15, im going away this summer and I wanted to buy a digital camera so I can send my parents the pictures from another country. I have $125 dollars my parents will give me 30 dollars so about $150 I will have. What type should I get, I want one that holds allot of memory because im taking lot's of shoots when im boarding the plane and stuff. Please help I want a good one in my price range. Or should I get a camcorder, there's probably none in my price range anyway.

    You have a pretty tight budget but I will also recommend the A590is, a great little camera that produce nice, sharp images, has manual controls should you wish to use them, feels nice to hold (the battery compartment is slightly larger than most making a nice formed grip to hold the camera steady). It also takes AA so you can carry some spares with you (buy NIMH rechargeable batteries), it also has a viewfinder for those times when it is difficult to see the screen.
