How do I transfer pictures from Kodak EasyShare to My Pics?

How do you transfer pics from a Kodak Easyshare camera without the software?

  • When I plug in my Easyshare camera, I have to use the Easyshare software (made for people who have never used a computer before). While easy share lets me painfully transfer pictures from the camera, My Computer does not recognize that the device is plugged in and the only other option I see is buying a separate card reader. Is there any way to deactivate the software so that I can just drag and drop from the SD card to my documents in Windows Explorer?

  • Answer:

You can get a Lexar disk reader that plugs right into your computer. The reader has the software built into it, so the computer will pick it up and then all you have to do is insert the media disk and it will download onto your computer.

You don't need to uninstall the software to use a card reader. When you plug in the reader, your puter will treat it as an external drive. You can drag and drop all you want. HTH.

Connect your camera to the computer. Instead of launching Easy Share. Launch Windows Explorer. Under "Computer" you will find the various drives. Double click the camera. Then right-click the photos. Choose "copy" then paste them where ever you want them.
